Sustainable materials solutions and PFAS-free alternatives for the plastics industry
At Fakuma 2026, BARLOG Plastics will be presenting innovative material solutions for sustainable and high-performance plastics applications. The focus will be on compounds based on recycled materials, PFAS-free materials for tribological applications, and new high-performance plastics for demanding applications.
With the KEBALLOY ECO portfolio, BARLOG Plastics offers engineering plastics and high-performance compounds that make a significant contribution to the circular economy whilst meeting high standards of quality, performance and process reliability. Particular emphasis is placed on high-quality post-consumer recycled materials. Furthermore, the company develops bespoke micro-circular economy solutions in which production residues or end-of-life plastic components are reprocessed and reintroduced into new applications. This helps to conserve resources and make efficient use of material flows.
Another key area of focus is PFAS-free material solutions for sliding and wear applications. Against the backdrop of increasing regulatory requirements, BARLOG Plastics is developing application-specific alternatives to PTFE-modified compounds. Through specialised filler combinations, excellent friction and wear properties can be achieved without resorting to PFAS-containing additives. Temperature resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical requirements are specifically tailored to the respective application.
In addition, BARLOG Plastics is introducing the new KEBAPEAK 9000 series based on PEKK. These high-performance compounds enable use in particularly demanding applications with high temperature requirements and expand the possibilities for innovative plastic designs. Furthermore, the company offers support through its ECO-Calculator and ECO-Consulting services to help assess CO₂ reduction potential and make sustainable material choices.
